Hydropower is changing its priorities in China

The «Hydrosila» Group of Companies, which participated in the exhibition alongside leading global manufacturers of hydraulics, presented visitors of Bauma China 2012 with the full range of its products, focusing on its latest developments. In particular, a whole range of axial piston machine models manufactured under the company’s trademark was exhibited - pumps and motors for open hydraulic systems of the «N» and «C» series with LS control, «short» motors for closed hydraulic systems, and bent-axis pumps and motors with an inclination angle of 26 and 40 degrees. Gear pumps, hydraulic distributors and hydraulic cylinders of various models and sizes, widely used in construction and road machinery, agricultural machinery and other special-purpose equipment, were also presented.

During the exhibition, Hydrosila specialists held negotiations with representatives of a number of construction and road machinery manufacturers. The company’s stand was also visited by representatives of its counterparties from China and other countries of the region - Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines. 

According to Oleksandr Shamshur, who heads the axial piston machinery division within the «Hydrosila» Group of Companies, the Asian, and especially the Chinese, construction and road machinery market is currently experiencing a serious crisis. At Bauma China 2012, not a single Chinese manufacturer of concrete mixer trucks was represented. According to independent analysts, out of nearly one hundred national companies that produced this type of machinery, only about 10% have retained any significant production volumes.

«Such a significant reduction in concrete mixer truck production may be connected with market oversaturation against the backdrop of a general slowdown in construction activity currently taking place worldwide. In 2011, Chinese companies produced about 65 thousand concrete mixer trucks. With current demand, more are simply not needed yet. Therefore, «Hydrosila» is now changing its priorities in the region, expecting to increase the share of hydraulic machinery supplies to other sectors of construction and road machinery and other special-purpose equipment production», notes Oleksandr Shamshur.

The Bauma China exhibition is held once every two years. This year, the forum brought together more than 2,700 participants from 141 countries and about 180,000 business visitors across an area of 300 thousand square meters.
